Wondering about the word "Muhly"? The Muhlenbergia genus is named after Henry Muhlenberg (1753-1815) who was an accomplished botanist, chemist and mineralogist. Muhlenberg is also claimed by many to be America’s first outstanding botanist. Now you know. ;)

Muhlenbergia (also called sweetgrass) is used in the low-country of South Carolina for traditional basket weaving. Now you know more. ;)
