More About Vinca ‘Cora® Cascade XDR Punch’
Vinca ‘Cora® Cascade XDR Punch’ is a high-performance trailing annual vinca bred specifically for extreme summer conditions. Its saturated hot-pink flowers with a contrasting dark eye provide bold, high-visibility color that remains consistent throughout the season.
As part of the Cora® XDR series, this variety offers enhanced resistance to common vinca diseases, making it especially reliable in humid or high-rainfall environments. The trailing habit allows it to spill cleanly over containers and baskets without thinning or stretching.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
In trials, ‘Cora® Cascade XDR Punch’ maintained strong bloom density and clean foliage even during prolonged heat and humidity. It showed excellent tolerance to stress conditions that often cause standard vincas to stall or decline. We rely on it as a high-impact spiller when color intensity and durability are non-negotiable.
Cora® Cascade XDR Punch vs. Other Vinca
Within the Cora® Series, XDR Punch is the boldest trailing option, delivering saturated color with extreme disease resistance. When set beside the Cora® Cascade XDR Mix, Punch trades color variety for focus, offering a single, dominant hue instead of a blended, garden-style look. Against Cora® Cascade Polkadot, it reads cleaner and more modern rather than playful. The XDR genetics make it one of the most durable trailing vincas available. This variety is built for high-heat containers that still need punch.
Compared to the Titan™ Series, this variety contrasts sharply in form by replacing upright height with a trailing, cascading habit designed for containers. Titan selections are bred to stand tall and create vertical presence, while this Cora® type focuses on movement and edge spill. The closest Titan color match is Titan™ Really Red, though Titan delivers that color in a dense, upright block rather than a flowing form. I plant XDR Punch when Summer containers need to shout instead of whisper.
