More About Foxglove ‘Dalmatian White’
Foxglove ‘Dalmatian White’ is an improved foxglove selection known for its clean white flower spikes and earlier bloom time compared to traditional foxgloves. The tubular, bell-shaped flowers are tightly packed along sturdy stems, creating a refined vertical accent in spring gardens.
Unlike classic foxgloves that often bloom only in their second year, the Dalmatian series is bred to flower reliably the first season from planting, making it far more predictable in garden and landscape use.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
In our trials, ‘Dalmatian White’ has performed exceptionally well in partial shade with consistent moisture. It establishes quickly, produces strong, upright flower spikes, and maintains a neat basal rosette even after bloom.
We especially appreciate its versatility in design. The pure white flowers brighten shaded borders, pair beautifully with pastels and bold colors alike, and attract bees and other pollinators during the spring bloom window.
Dalmatian White vs. Other Foxglove
Dalmatian White is the most versatile and design-friendly option in the series, valued for its clean, crisp flower spikes that brighten shaded or partially shaded areas. Its white blooms reflect light well, making it especially useful in woodland gardens, evening gardens, or tighter spaces where darker colors may feel heavy. Compared to Dalmatian Peach, White is cooler and more neutral, and compared to Dalmatian Purple, it offers a calmer, more architectural presence. Like the other Dalmatian varieties, it blooms early and maintains a controlled, upright habit that fits well in containers and formal borders. Dalmatian White also serves as an excellent companion plant, helping unify mixed plantings without competing for attention.
