More About Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach’

Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach’ brings a softness to the shade garden that still feels vibrant and alive. In Spring, the foliage emerges in warm peach and rose tones that almost glow in the right light. As we move into Summer, the color settles slightly but never turns muddy or dull, and then in Fall it often intensifies again, picking up richer coral and rosy hues. That shift through the Seasons gives it depth and movement without the plant ever looking inconsistent. It feels layered and dimensional rather than flat.

What really sets ‘Georgia Peach’ apart is how well it handles heat and humidity. Many of the lighter, warm toned Heuchera struggle here in the Southeast, especially once July and August roll around. This one was clearly bred with climates like ours in mind. In our Upstate South Carolina conditions, it keeps its foliage intact and attractive instead of scorching or thinning out. It is a warm color plant that actually performs in warm weather, which is not always the case.

Why We Like It (Our Trials)

In our trials, ‘Georgia Peach’ has been impressively durable. It establishes quickly and builds into a full, even mound that looks intentional instead of patchy. Through Summer heat and heavy humidity, the foliage stays clean and holds its tone far better than many pastel or peach selections I have grown over the years. We focus heavily on drainage in our red clay soil, and once planted properly, this variety settles in and performs with very little drama. It resists leaf scorch noticeably better than most lighter colored Heuchera.

From a design standpoint, it is incredibly easy to work with. The peach tones soften darker plantings and add warmth to shaded corners that might otherwise feel cool or flat. I love pairing it with silver foliage for contrast, or setting it against deep purples and dark greens where the color really stands out. It also blends beautifully with soft pink blooms for a cohesive, romantic look. In containers, especially near an entry where you can appreciate the nuance of the color, ‘Georgia Peach’ always feels polished and thoughtfully chosen.

Georgia Peach vs. Other Heuchera Varieties

‘Georgia Peach’ brings soft peach, amber, and rose tones that shift with temperature and light, offering dynamic seasonal interest. Compared to the bold reds like Fire Alarm and Forever Red, it is gentler and more transitional in color. Georgia Peach bridges warm and cool palettes, pairing naturally with Berry Smoothie, Forever Purple, and Northern Exposure™ Silver .

Georgia Peach is especially effective at softening darker plantings anchored by varieties like Obsidian or Black Forest Cake. This variety is a favorite for gardeners who want warmth without intensity. Georgia Peach excels in woodland gardens, foundation plantings, and mixed containers where subtle color variation is appreciated. Its changing tones add depth and movement throughout the season.
