More About Thunbergia ‘TowerPower Apricot’
Thunbergia ‘TowerPower Apricot’ delivers warm, glowing apricot-colored flowers accented by a rich, dark eye that adds depth and contrast. The blooms appear steadily throughout the growing season, creating a soft yet vibrant display that stands out beautifully against lush green foliage.
Part of the TowerPower series, this variety was bred for strong climbing ability, vigorous growth, and reliable flowering. Its twining habit makes it ideal for quickly covering vertical structures, while still performing well in large containers where it can trail and spill with ease.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
In our trials, ‘TowerPower Apricot’ has shown excellent vigor and consistency, especially in hot summer conditions. It establishes quickly, climbs aggressively once supported, and continues blooming without pause through heat and humidity.
We especially like the color. The apricot tones are softer and more refined than traditional orange or yellow Thunbergia, making it easy to pair with both bold and pastel plant palettes. It adds height, movement, and seasonal interest with very little maintenance.
TowerPower Apricot vs. Other Black-Eyed Susan Vines
TowerPower Apricot separates itself from the Sunny selections by focusing on height and vertical coverage rather than compact fullness. Compared to Sunny™ Rose Sensation and Sunny Susy® Yellow Dark Eye, it climbs more aggressively, making it better suited for trellises, fences, and obelisks. Its apricot blooms are softer and more pastel than the high-contrast Sunny varieties, creating a calmer, more blended look in the landscape. While Sunny Susy® White Halo stays tighter and more container-friendly, TowerPower excels when scale and movement are the goal. It’s the clear choice when structure matters more than density.
