More About Beelicious® Pink
Beelicious® Pink is the kind of Agastache I wish we’d had years ago, back before it was called “Hummingbird Mint” meant tall, floppy stems and a whole lot of cutting back by mid Summer. The flower spikes are a soft, clear pink—not loud, nor muddy—and they rise just above the foliage in a way that feels balanced rather than top-heavy. The foliage itself carries that familiar minty fragrance, but it stays tidy and proportional instead of sprawling out and swallowing its neighbors.
The Beelicious® series really shows in the structure—shorter internodes, strong branching, and a habit that stays upright even as the season wears on. I’ve grown older Agastache varieties that looked beautiful in June and completely unraveled by August. Beelicious® Pink keeps pushing new blooms without needing deadheading, and it holds a clean shape right through the heat. Over the years, I’ve learned that Agastache can either be a star or a disappointment depending on how well it’s matched to the garden. This one has been remarkably forgiving. Once it’s established in full sun and well-drained soil, it settles in quickly and just keeps going.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
In our trials, ‘Beelicious® Pink’ has proven itself where it matters most—through heat, humidity, and inconsistent rainfall. In Southern conditions, that’s the real test. It doesn’t flop after a storm, doesn’t thin out in August, and doesn’t need rich soil or extra care to perform. I like plants that don’t require constant decisions, and this one has earned that trust. The pollinator response is immediate and nonstop. Bees work the flowers from morning to evening, butterflies pass through regularly, and hummingbirds seem to make it part of their routine. Deer, thankfully, want nothing to do with it.
The compact size makes it easy to tuck into perennial beds, borders, or containers without worrying about it overwhelming the space. One thing I hear again and again from customers is how long it stays in bloom compared to the Agastache they remember growing years ago. I’ve noticed the same thing. ‘Beelicious® Pink’ doesn’t just flower—it lasts. And after more than 50 years of gardening, that kind of steady, season-long performance is what keeps a plant on my short list.
Beelicious® Pink’ vs. Other Agastache Varieties
Beelicious® Pink stands apart from many traditional Agastache selections thanks to its compact, highly controlled growth habit and exceptional flower density. Compared to taller, airier varieties like Blue Fortune, Beelicious® Pink remains neatly branched and full from the base up, without the stretching or thinning that can occur as summer progresses. Dwarf selections like Little Adder share a similar sense of control, but Beelicious® Pink distinguishes itself with a longer bloom window and a more uniform, polished appearance that performs especially well in containers and tight garden spaces.
When viewed alongside bolder, deeper-toned varieties such as Blue Boa, Beelicious® Pink introduces a softer, more romantic color note. It provides a more gentle color without overpowering neighboring plants, while Sunrise™ White offers a clean, neutral presence and works well as a blending plant. Beelicious® Pink is an excellent choice for mixed borders, cottage-style plantings, and refined pollinator gardens where strong hummingbird and bee attraction is desired alongside a lighter, more harmonious palette.
