More About Agastache ‘Sunrise™ White’
This season is our very first year growing ‘Sunrise™ White’, and I’ll be honest—I’ve been curious about a white Agastache for a long time. Most Agastache varieties lean heavily into blues, purples, and some warm oranges, so seeing a clean white version in the ground feels like new territory for us. The flower spikes are crisp and bright, held well above aromatic foliage, and even early on they’ve had a freshness that doesn’t wash out in full sun. It’s the kind of color that instantly lightens a planting and makes everything around it feel a little more intentional.
The Sunrise™ Series is also new to us this year, so we’re watching it closely. The plants are forming neat, upright clumps with good branching, and they’re already showing a steady rhythm of bloom rather than one big flush. The habit is compact but not tight, giving it a natural look that still feels controlled—something I always look for in Agastache. The foliage has that familiar anise scent and clean appearance, which usually translates to good deer resistance and strong garden durability.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
Because this is our first season trialing both Sunrise White and the Sunrise Series as a whole, we’re genuinely excited to see how it performs over time. Early signs are promising, and I’m especially interested in how it pairs with bolder colors like blues, corals, and oranges in pollinator plantings. White Agastache isn’t something you see every day, and if it continues on this path, it could become a really useful design tool. Sometimes the plants that surprise you the most are the ones you didn’t know you were missing—and Sunrise® White might just be one of those.
Sunrise® White vs. Other Agastache Varieties
Compared to taller varieties like Blue Fortune or Blue Boa, Sunrise White’offers a more compact size and a softer visual presence. It works especially well at the front to middle of borders or in containers where taller Agastache might feel overpowering.
When compared to compact series like Kudos™ Mandarin or Beelicious® Pink, ‘Sunrise White’ sits comfortably in the middle—slightly taller than Kudos but still controlled and tidy. For gardeners looking to brighten pollinator gardens, soften bold color palettes, or add contrast without sacrificing performance, Agastache ‘Sunrise White’ is an outstanding choice.
