More About Calibrachoa ‘Calitastic® Cappuccino’

Calibrachoa ‘Calitastic® Cappuccino’ brings a sophisticated, earthy color palette to the Million Bells lineup, featuring rich mocha-brown petals accented by soft creamy-yellow centers. The unique coloration feels warm and refined, offering an alternative to bright or pastel calibrachoa varieties while still delivering strong visual impact.

As part of the Calitastic® series, this variety was bred for improved vigor, uniform growth, and heavy flower coverage. Despite its darker, more muted tones, ‘Cappuccino’ blooms generously from spring through frost and maintains consistent color even under intense sun.

Why We Like It (Our Trials)

In our trials, ‘Calitastic® Cappuccino’ has been an excellent performer in full-sun containers and hanging baskets. It establishes quickly, trails evenly, and continues flowering heavily with regular feeding.

We especially appreciate its design versatility. The warm brown tones pair beautifully with creams, yellows, oranges, chartreuse foliage, and deep purples, making it ideal for earth-tone or modern container designs. Flowers are self-cleaning, keeping maintenance minimal throughout the season.

Calitastic® Cappuccino vs. Other Calibrachoa Varietises

Calitastic® Cappuccino occupies a very different design lane than most Calibrachoa, leaning into warmth, subtlety, and sophistication rather than high contrast or novelty. When compared to Colibri® Pure White, the distinction is immediately clear: Pure White is crisp, bright, and universally adaptable—perfect for lifting color combinations and providing contrast—while Cappuccino is deliberately muted. Against bolder specialty colors like Caliloco Dracula, Cappuccino feels restrained and elegant. Dracula is theatrical and high-contrast, built to shock and draw attention as a focal point while Cappuccino does the opposite—it elevates everything around it without demanding the spotlight.

When placed alongside broader genetics such as the Cha-Cha™ Series and the Superbells® Series, Cappuccino’s role becomes even more defined. Cha-Cha™ varieties emphasize lively color, fast fill, and a playful, energetic presence. Superbells® focuses on vigor, large flowers, and bold, season-long impact across a wide color range. Cappuccino doesn’t try to outshine any of these categories in raw performance or brightness; instead, it complements them. It’s the perfect counterbalance to vivid Superbells®, the softener for dramatic Cabaret® Varieties, and the grounding element in Cha-Cha™ mixes.
