More About SunPatiens® ‘Compact Hot Pink’

SunPatiens® ‘Compact Hot Pink’ delivers vibrant, high-saturation hot-pink blooms that maintain their intensity from late spring through frost. The color is bold and energetic, standing out strongly in full-sun landscapes where softer pinks can fade or wash out. As part of the Compact series, this variety was bred for controlled growth, dense branching, and uniform performance, making it ideal for gardeners who want powerful color without oversized plants. Its tidy, mounded habit keeps containers, borders, and tight planting spaces looking clean and intentional all season long.

Why We Like It (Our Trials)

In our trials, ‘Compact Hot Pink’ has proven to be exceptionally reliable in full sun, partial shade, extreme heat, humidity, and heavy summer rains. It flowers continuously without deadheading and shows excellent resistance to impatiens downy mildew. We especially appreciate its visual impact—few annuals deliver this level of pink intensity while staying compact and manageable. When paired with white or bold accent colors, it creates striking contrast that holds strong through peak summer conditions.

Compact Hot Pink vs. Other SunPatiens®

Compact Hot Pink is the brightest pink in the Compact Series, delivering high-impact color that immediately grabs the eye. Compared to Tropical Rose, it is louder and more saturated, trading softness for punch and visual urgency. Its color pops harder than Purple Candy, which leans cooler and more refined by comparison. Against Compact Fire Red, Hot Pink reads brighter and more youthful, though slightly less dramatic in depth.

When paired with Compact White or Electric Orange, Hot Pink becomes even more visually charged, creating sharp contrast that amplifies its intensity in both containers and mass plantings. Growth stays dense and uniform like all Compact types, making it easy to use in containers and tight borders. This is the best choice for gardeners who want maximum pink without stepping up to larger, more aggressive SunPatiens.
