More About Petunia ‘Crazytunia® Black & White’
Petunia ‘Crazytunia® Black & White’ is a true conversation piece, featuring dramatic near-black flowers splashed with a bold white star pattern. Each bloom is slightly different, giving the plant a dynamic, artistic look that stands out in containers and garden beds.
The contrast between the dark petals and bright white markings creates strong visual impact even from a distance. Flowers are produced abundantly, ensuring the plant remains showy throughout the season.
Why We Like It (Our Trials)
In our trials, ‘CrazyTunia® Black & White’ has been reliable, vigorous, and consistently floriferous when grown in full sun with regular feeding. It maintains good flower coverage and holds its pattern well through summer heat.
We especially appreciate its design versatility. It works beautifully as a focal point in mixed containers and pairs exceptionally well with white petunias, silver foliage, chartreuse accents, and bold yellows.
Crazytunia® Black & White vs. Other Petunias
Within the Crazytunia® Series, Black & White is the most graphic and high-contrast selection. Compared to the nearly solid dark blooms of Black Mamba, Black & White delivers sharp visual drama with bright white flowers and bold dark centers. It shares the same compact, mounded growth as Bananarama, but visually it feels more modern and striking. Among the series, this one reads clean and intentional rather than playful or moody. It’s often the Crazytunia people notice first from a distance.
Compared to the Supertunia® Series, Crazytunia® Black & White trades sheer vigor for pattern clarity and containment. Supertunias spread faster and cover more ground, but they rarely offer this level of contrast. Headliner™ Night Sky provides similar black and white blooms, but its galaxy-like white speckling shifts with temperature. Black & White is far more consistent in appearance, staying predictable and bold. That consistency makes it easier to design with long-term.
