More About Leucanthemum ‘Sweet Daisy® Izabel’

Leucanthemum ‘Sweet Daisy® Izabel’ is a really refined take on the classic Shasta Daisy. The blooms are bright, clean white with crisp golden centers, giving that timeless daisy look that always feels cheerful in the garden. What makes this variety stand out, though, is how polished the plant itself looks. The flowers sit neatly above the foliage on strong, upright stems that hold their position beautifully, even after a heavy rain. Instead of flopping outward like some older Shasta varieties, the plant keeps a balanced, tidy shape that looks intentional in the landscape.

This variety is part of the Sweet Daisy® series, which was developed with garden performance in mind. The breeding focused on improving branching, bloom uniformity, and overall plant structure. In the garden, that translates into a plant that fills in evenly and produces flowers across the entire clump instead of just on a few taller stems. The result is a fuller, more balanced display that looks great whether you’re planting one specimen or grouping several together. Another thing I appreciate about ‘Sweet Daisy® Izabel’ is its scale. It gives you the same classic daisy charm that people love, but in a more compact and manageable plant. That makes it especially useful in smaller garden beds or in mixed perennial plantings where taller daisies might overpower their neighbors.

Why We Like It (Our Trials)

In our trial beds here at Garden Delivery, ‘Sweet Daisy® Izabel’ quickly proved itself as one of the cleanest compact Shasta Daisy varieties we’ve grown. One thing that really stood out during our trials was the strength of the stems. After several rainstorms early in the season, the plants held their flowers upright without collapsing or splaying open. That sturdy structure kept the clumps looking tidy and intentional, which is something I always appreciate when designing perennial beds where plant structure matters just as much as flower color.

The blooms themselves stayed very clean throughout the flowering period. White flowers can sometimes fade or develop a tired look in hot sun, but ‘Izabel’ maintained bright white petals and strong golden centers even during warmer stretches of weather. The flowers also responded very well to simple deadheading. Once the spent blooms were removed, the plants quickly pushed new buds, extending the bloom window longer than many people expect from Shasta Daisies. It performed beautifully in traditional perennial beds, but it also looked excellent in larger containers where its compact habit helped keep the planting balanced.

Sweet Daisy® Izabel vs. Other Shasta Daisies

‘Sweet Daisy® Izabel’ is best defined by its balanced growth habit and approachable, classic daisy look. Compared to Sweet Daisy® Jane, Izabel is slightly softer in presence, with a less rigid structure but excellent garden reliability. It doesn’t have the oversized blooms of Amazing Daisies® Marshmallow or the color twist of REALFLOR® Real Sunbeam but it fits effortlessly into traditional borders and cottage-style plantings. For gardeners who want dependable performance without drawing too much attention, Izabel offers consistency and charm without overstatement.
