More About Lantana ‘Little Lucky™ Orange’

Lantana ‘Little Lucky™ Orange’ packs intense color into a remarkably compact plant, delivering bold orange flower clusters on one of the smallest lantana habits available. The blooms are richly saturated and hold their color exceptionally well through summer heat, ensuring consistent visual impact without the sprawling growth typical of many lantana varieties. Flowers are produced continuously, creating a dense, colorful canopy that never feels oversized or unruly.

This variety was bred specifically for tight spaces and container use, combining the durability and heat tolerance of traditional lantana with a truly dwarf, controlled growth habit. Unlike standard Lucky™ or Bandana® varieties, ‘Little Lucky™ Orange’ stays low and uniform, making it easy to integrate into designs where scale and balance are critical. Its tidy form allows it to shine in high-visibility areas without constant pruning or maintenance.

Why We Like It (Our Trials)

In our trials, ‘Little Lucky™ Orange’ has been exceptionally reliable in full sun and high-heat conditions, maintaining a neat, rounded shape even during peak summer stress. It flowers continuously without the need for deadheading and shows excellent drought tolerance once established, making it both attractive and easy to manage.

We especially appreciate how well this variety performs in spaces where larger lantanas would overwhelm their surroundings. It’s an outstanding choice for small containers, window boxes, front-of-border plantings, and clean landscape edges where bold color is desired in a compact, well-behaved plant.

Little Lucky™ Orange vs. Other Lantana Varieties

Little Lucky™ Orange delivers warm orange tones on one of the smallest plants in the Lucky® Series. Compared to Little Lucky™ White, Orange brings more visual energy while maintaining the same tight, compact habit. It differs from Lucky Flame by offering solid color rather than blended tones, making it easier to pair with other plants.

When compared to the Bandana® Series, Little Lucky™ Orange stays much shorter and denser, making it better for small pots and edging. Against New Gold, it provides upright structure rather than spreading coverage. It also serves as a compact, controlled alternative to Dallas Red, delivering warmth without height or dominance. This variety excels where space is limited but bold color is still desired.
